Laverton Downs Project
Project Overview
The six granted exploration licences that comprise the LDP sit across the southern section of the Duketon Greenstone Belt in the north-eastern part of the Yilgarn Craton. The Duketon belt consists of mafic-ultramafic sequences with internal granitoid intrusion, felsic volcanic, and sedimentary rocks. This proven gold mineralised geology hosts the historic Lancefield mines,Granny Smith (Au), Sunrise Dam (Au), Mt Morgans (Au), Mt Windarra (Ni), Wallaby (Au) and Rosemount/Garden Well/Moolart Well (Au).
Past Exploration
The LDP has been the subject of several drill programs over the past 20 years or so, with the last effective drill campaign by APC executed in late 2013. Results from this RAB program included:
-
3m @ 10.17g/t Au from 23m including 1m @ 27.2g/t Au from 23m
-
2m @ 1.19g/t Au from 34m
-
4m @ 0.89g/t Au from 27m
-
1m @ 1.16g/t Au from 23m
Follow up RC drilling into the same target area returned the following results from 4 metre composite samples:
-
4m @ 1.99g/t Au
-
4m @ 1.00g/t Au
Since the identification of the broad minerlised zonoe at the LDP, there has not been any effective drilling at the Project. The Company has pivoted back to the LDP and in Q1 2025 will conduct its first gold-targeted drill program there since 2014.
